UGM U202 Crew, Day Three: Wednesday 15th July 2009

"U202 Crew" are the participants in the 2009 Intensive Preparation Programme of the International Undergraduate Programme, in the Faculty of Economics, U.G.M.

Call My Bluff
Peer Group Pressure: Round 2 - Rezaa.

Rezaa told a story about going to Manado and eating in a branch of Pizza Hut in the airport with his cousin. According to Rezaa, he got a 15% discount because he spent more than Rp.50,000. Unaffected by the sheer excitement and drama of this story, the rest of U202 Crew put Rezaa under a lot of pressure with their tough questioning... What did you eat? What kind of pizzas did you order? Did you pay cash? Why were you in Manado? Where did you go in Manado? etc. etc. Only six classmates thought Rezaa's story was true and they were wrong. Everybody else knew it was a bluff.

Peer Group Pressure Scoreboard after 2 Rounds:

Call My Bluff
Adrian v Everybody: Round 5.

Adrian told a story about being hypnotized for some kind of postgraduate research project. He claimed that under hypnosis he was able to remember the names of all the shops, in more or less the correct order, along 1,000 metres on one side of a city street. Thirteen U202 Crew members thought it was true. The rest thought it was a bluff. And the 'rest' were right!

Current Score: Adrian 60, Everybody Else 58.
This means Adrian is winning and is better than U202 Crew. Adrian has got the higher score. U202 has got the lower score. So Adrian is winning. Understand?

  5. Uh, I can't seem to get a Jogja accent even though I've been living here for five years! I can produce the (daily conversational) Javanese all right, but everyone within one kilometer radius would chaff me about the accent! -_-;

    Anyways, isn't the Royal Family's accent supposed to be different from the people's accent? (I believe i've read it somewhere.)
